Wondering why service dogs wear goggles? It's a good question. Service dogs and other dogs may wear goggles for the same reasons as people do, to protect their eyes. Service dogs and other working dogs especially, spend a lot of time outdoors, which naturally increases the risk of their eyes getting injured. Service dogs can go anywhere that the public can go, which is almost anywhere. Children have been known to poke service dogs in the eyes! Goggles can also protect a service dog from school and work environments such as science labs or workshops. There are a lot of reasons why service dogs wear goggles. Dust, UV rays, water, bugs, twigs, you name it.
